About Bedlam House, Newquay, Cornwall

Bedlam house has been lovingly refurbished by us personally, after standing empty for 12 years we have created three beautiful rooms for our guests to enjoy. After running a very successful guest house in town for 19 years we sold up to follow other ambitions, but after 4 years we decided we really missed the buzz of meeting new people and making sure they had the best holiday ever. This time on a smaller scale we hope to carry on as before and offer top quality accommodation. That little bit if luxury which we all deserve when we stay away from home.

Location

Newquay is perfectly situated in amongst fabulous beaches and breathtaking countryside, within easy access of all Cornwall has to offer, with no more than an hour's drive to lands end and 30 minutes to the ever popular Eden project. Newquay provides best of both worlds, we have an excellent night life with plenty of restaurants and busy bars, the famous Jamie Oliver's Fifteen is just one of them. Then we have the most amazing costal walks and only a short drive away are many hidden country pubs which offer delicious homemade food, most using local Cornish produce.

Bedlam house is located on Ulalia Road, we are 2 minutes walk away from Tranance leisure park which offers fantastic sports facilities, including tennis, bowling, swimming, gymnasium, children's play areas and of course Newquay Zoo.

The closest beach to us is Tolcarn which is only at the top of our road and runs a very successful surf school. As a lot of our beaches run together they are easily accessible at low tide.

Newquay town is a few minutes walk away as is the train station, the bus station is approximately 15 minutes walk and Newquay airport is 7 miles away. A local bus runs frequently from the airport or we can arrange a taxi to pick you up if needed.

Accommodation

The Cribba

This room offers a king-size double bed with beautiful cherry wood furniture, tastefully decorated in farrow and ball colours. The spacious en-suite comprises of a contemporary wash basin, toilet and walk in shower with drencher shower head complimented with travertine tiles.

Ubatuba

This room offers a standard double bed furnished with Laura Ashley cherry wood furniture and tastefully decorated in farrow and ball colours. The en-suite comprises of shower with drencher shower head, contemporary wash basin and toilet.

Pororoca

This room offers a pair of single Laura Ashley beds furnished with Laura Ashley Cherry wood furniture and tastefully decorated with farrow and ball colours. The en-suite comprised of shower with drencher shower head, contemporary wash basin and toilet.

Dining Room

Tastefully decorated in farrow and ball colours and complimented with art work by a local artist, separate tables which can be joined for larger groups. French doors open into a patio area for alfresco dinning during our summer months. When it turns a little chilly we have a beautiful log burner set in a stunning dalabole slate surround.

Lounge

The lounge offers 2 large comfy sofas and a wingback chair. Tastefully decorated in farrow and ball colours and also complimented with a local artists art work. A beautiful Victorian open fire which is always lit during the winter and is perfect to relax by when the night draws in.
